Bonsai gardening isn’t easy work but if you’re committed, it can be a lot of fun and very rewarding as well. If you’re in the process of creating your own bonsai, then the tips on this page could really help you make your bonsai a thing you can be really proud of. If you got impatient and bought an already made bonsai from an enthusiast, then you can follow these tips to keep your bonsai looking amazing for a long time ahead.

A bonsai sycamore tree is a very popular choice in bonsai tree and as such, it shouldn’t be too hard to find. Sycamore trees make amazing looking bonsai but they need to be cared for and maintained so they look as great as they do in all those bonsai catalogues you’ve picked up over time. Here’s what you need to be doing to maintain your bonsai sycamore tree.

Wiring is how you guide and shape the bonsai tree branches into shape. Since sycamore branches bend rather easily, it’s a good idea to use aluminium wires to shape your bonsai tree. These wires don’t rust so you can water your plant with that peace of mind. However, you need to remove the wire before autumn so it doesn’t embed in the bark of your tree.

Since you work so hard to give your tree some direction, trimming branches can be pretty tough. A good time to cut thicker branches is in March. Always cover the scar of a cut branch with wax or a balm so it heals well.

Place in Sunlight

You should place your bonsai sycamore tree in a spot where it gets enough sunlight. In shady spots, the sycamore leaves tend to grow a tad too big, which isn’t going to look all that good in your bonsai garden.
